ABOUT ME

Hi, I'm Cynthia, and I'm running for Orange County Supervisor of Elections

Cynthia Harris

WHERE I COME FROM

As a proud resident of Orange County for the past 50 years, I have been deeply involved in the local community, advocating for fair and transparent elections. My passion for public service drives me to ensure every voice is heard and every vote counts.

Cynthia Harris stands as a beacon of hope and change in the realm of community empowerment and social justice. With a career spanning decades, she has dedicated herself to uplifting marginalized communities, advocating for equitable policies, and fostering opportunities for growth and development.

Born in Mississippi and raised in Orlando, Florida, Cynthia's passion for service and activism was ignited at a young age. Witnessing the challenges faced by low-income families instilled in her a deep sense of empathy and a drive to make a difference. She obtained a degree in Criminal Justice/Public Administration at the University of Central Florida, becoming involved in various student-led initiatives focused on social justice and community outreach.

Cynthia's journey into community empowerment began with her role as Executive Director of the Carson-Chaney House, which she transformed into a hub of support services for low-income families. As Chief Executive Officer of Economic Opportunity Training Operations, she pioneered youth empowerment and entrepreneurship programs, providing students aged 9-20 with the skills and resources needed to succeed.

Cynthia's dedication to fostering economic independence and self-sufficiency among youth has earned her widespread acclaim and recognition within the community.

A THRIVING CAREER

Throughout my career in public service, I have tirelessly worked to promote voter engagement and enhance election integrity. My experience in election administration and commitment to upholding democratic principles have shaped my vision for the future of elections in Orange County.

Cynthia Harris is a dedicated advocate for community empowerment and social justice. As Chair of the Valencia College Black Advisory Committee, she promotes access to educational opportunities and civic engagement among minority populations. MISSION STATEMENT

Empowering Every Voter, Ensuring Integrity

My mission is to uphold the values of equality and opportunity in the electoral process. I am dedicated to fostering an inclusive and accessible voting environment, where every individual has the right and the means to participate in shaping the future of our community.
Senior voters are the heart of the voting process. Cynthia pledges to place ExpressVote equipment historically reserved for voters with disabilities or needing assistance in all nursing homes and rehab facilities to make sure voting is accessible to all who may need extra assistance or have transportation needs. The ExpressVote Voting System has been used by election officials with incredible success in several states across the country including Orange County.

Millions of Americans move every year with around 15 percent of all movers relocating to a different state or different precinct. When voters relocate, they may not always remember to cancel their old voter registration. The result: Voters remain registered in a state or precinct where they are no longer eligible to vote. Cynthia pledges to ensure that an outreach team is in place to make sure eligible voters that are deemed inactive are contacted so they don't find out on election day that they are ineligible to vote.

Civic participation and education is at an all time low. Most children and adults are not properly educated on how elections work or who represents them in their own communities. Cynthia pledges to hold civic education academies for both youth and adults to help create a better understanding in the electorial process.
